18th Century Vampires Party Theme
Host a fancy but spooky party with the 18th century vampire theme. Create aged-looking invitation with brown parchment paper. In ornately-written calligraphy, invite guests to an 18th century party. Seal the invites with a wax seal for an authentic touch. If possible, rent a grand ballroom in a luxury hotel or old mansion, or transform your own home into an 18th century ballroom setting.
The colonial style of dress should be the dress code for all guests. Costume shops either rent or sell 18th century costumes. Elements of dress in the time period include velvet coats, ruffled shirts, knee-length pants, black shoes, and stockings. For an authentic look add a cape, fangs, white makeup, a cane, and a black top hat.
Guests should be greeted by a person dressed in 18th century servant clothing. Lead guests into the ballroom or party area, which should be decorated with velvet curtains, patterned rugs, a chandelier, and gothic decorations.
Listen to the music of a string quartet or classical CD. For an eerie look, light the room with red lights. Have fun showing off each others' fangs and waltzing.
For an elegant dinner, serve steak, French bread, baked potatoes, Caesar salad, turkey legs, vegetables, especially onions, and red wine. Have a communal feast with a banquet table.
After dinner, relax with a cigar and watch vampire movies. Ideal choices would be "Dracula" and "Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles. "
For an interesting twist on the party theme, create a murder mystery game. Many companies offer services for movie mystery parties, or do it yourself. Have a blast while trying to figure out which vampire did it.
