Grease Party Theme
For one-of-a-kind invitations, use old records and write the information in puffy paint. Or, purchase Grease invitations at a party store.
Host your Grease party in a high school gym or dance hall. Hang a giant welcome banner that says “Welcome to Rydell High.” Decorate with streamers and balloons of every color and hang old Grease posters and records. Rent a jukebox or hire a live ‘50s swing band to entertain the crowd.
Encourage guests to dress in ‘50s fashion, like poodle skirts, bowling shirts, leather jackets, varsity letterman jackets, jeans, etc. Or dress as a cheerleader, or a member of the Pink Ladies or T-Birds.
Play the Grease movie with popcorn for all to enjoy. Encourage guests to sing along to classic songs from the movie, like “Summer Nights.” Have a dance-off and show off your classic ‘50s dance moves. Do the “Hand Jive,” the “Cha Cha” or the “Bop” while having someone record with a video camera for your own version of “National Bandstand.”
Have a hula hoop or bubble-blowing contests and give away Grease DVDs, the Grease soundtrack, or posters. Rent a karoake machine and sing a duet.
Feed the crowd classic American diner favorites, like hamburgers with fries, shakes, root beer floats, and ice cream sundaes for dessert. Purchase Grease-themes plates, napkins, table covers, and cups for your ‘50s bash.
