Hawaiian Trip Party Theme
Invite guests to your Hawaiian Luau with message in a bottle or Hawaiian-themed invitations. Or, write the invitations of inexpensive colorful flip flops.
Convert your home into a tropical paradise with Tiki decorations. Use palm trees, grass table runners, tropical scene backdrops,tiki lights, Island travel posters and colorful garlands of homemade tissue flowers to decorate. Toy crabs, sea shells, wind chimes, wooden parrots and fish set the Island beach scene. Cover the walls with a tropical island backdrop to inspire that laidback island atmosphere.Set up tiki huts in the backyard.
Place a fresh tropical fruit centerpiece and votive candles in the center of each table.
Place surfboards and bamboo torches on each side of the entryway. Be sure to greet each guest with a Lei necklace.
Set the mood with Hawaiian music or the Beach Boys playing in the background.
Hula Dancing lessons are an entertaining activity for guests. Hire a local instructor or hula dancers to come for a brief lesson and lots of fun! Another enjoyable activity is limbo.
Dressing up for a luau is easy: just wear leis, hula skirts, shell bikini tops or coconuts. Men can wear Hawaiian print shirts and linen pants. Other costume ideas are Surfer dudes and lifeguards.
A Hawaiian feast would not be complete without the roasted pig. Also serve fresh Hawaiian pineapples and salads. Mix up some fun with Mai Tais and your Hawaiian bash will be a success!
