Shakesperean Party Theme
Create an aged-look for your Shakeperean party invitations. Use brown parchment paper, and tear the edges to resemble authentic documents from the era. Use the shakesperean style of writing to invite guests. Encourage everyone to brush up on their Shakeperean knowlegde before the party.
Each guest should be dressed as a character from a Shakespere play. Ideas for characters are Romeo, Juliet, Hamlet, Lady Viola, Lady Macbeth, fairies, Don Pedro, and Olivia. Women's clothing during the period usually consisted of two parts: bodice and skirt. Braids, embroidery, and patterns were common in Elizabethan era clothing.
Host the party in an elegant ballroom. Decorate with 16th century decor, including silver candle sticks, velvet curtains, tapestries, rugs, and a chandelier. Set up a feast consisting of roasted pumpkin seeds, sliced apples, vegetables and dips, meat tartlets, cheeses, and roasted beef. Offer Champagne in glass flutes, Sebastiani wine, and apple cider. Dress the tables in white linens with an elegant rose centerpiece.
Enjoy classical music with a live band. For more entertainment, set up a stage area and reenact scenes from Shakespere's plays.
